description

Broadcasters and CE companies rightly see the market for connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV’s) as a huge opportunity for Next Generation Television (ATSC 3.0). They are approaching original equipment makers and aftermarket suppliers with strong use cases for Next Gen, including in-vehicle infotainment.

However, there is another side to the CAV industry that could be a key to ATSC 3.0 adoption: the telecommunications infrastructure that will be the lifeblood of smart transportation. Telecom specs developed by transportation agencies, smart cities, public-private partnerships, and emergency responders could have as much or more impact on Next Gen adoption than near-term decisions in the automotive supply chain. Broadcasters must be at the table with innovative use cases and business models to make sure ATSC 3.0 is written into these specs.

This panel will feature leading players in tech, policy, and the public sector who are creating the intelligent transportation economy. The session is a must for anyone who wants to be part of this enormous global market.
