Hollywood and videogames have had a storied and eventful history, whether it be games based on movies, or movies based on games, these forms of entertainment have been around for close to 40 years. But, some of the best game experiences for fans throughout history have been those that took a co-creation approach during development. Games that involve the collaboration of game developer and original storyteller – the creators of the IP – have made the best games and authentically extend these worlds into the gaming medium. FTX Games has been making games based on entertainment IP for more than a decade. In this talk, Casey Dickinson, CEO of FTX Games, will share the history and evolution of movie/TV-based game. He will be joined by Amir Lotan, Creative Director and Head of Production of FTX Games, who brings insights on best practices surrounding co-creation of game experiences, referencing collaborative projects with industry icons, including Vince Gilligan (creator of Breaking Bad), Erica Meredith (senior writer and editor for Criminal Minds), Suzanne Collins (writer of The Hunger Games).
