description

Over the past several years we have seen the convergence of media technology between games, film, and television. At the core of this convergence is high-end real-time rendering technology. Today’s AAA level video games employ a level of realism that is attractive to not only games but now, film and television markets as well. With an ever-increasing demand for content and the level of quality modern real-time CGI can offer, the market barriers between the media types begin to blur. In recent years we have seen examples of where content that would traditionally only be done in post-production is now possible in real time. With the addition of real-time raytracing and global illumination, the barrier between markets become even more blurred. Epic Games is at the forefront of this movement and believe that this trend will continue and grow over the years to come.
