The AWS Media & Entertainment Solutions Architect team will lead three advanced level workshops on Wednesday, providing hands-on learning about how to design and build well-architected, serverless media solutions using AWS Elemental and Amazon Web Services API-driven artificial intelligence and machine learning services. Developers (including Asset Managers, Digital Team Members, DevOps, and Streaming Engineers) are encouraged to attend. Bring your own laptop and join us for one workshop or all of them. Capacity: 100 seats - reserve your space today using discount code AWS2!  If you want to attend both workshops, use discount code AWS3!

9 - 11 a.m.: Enhancing Media Workflows with Machine Learning
AI/ML is changing the way media companies produce and distribute content. In this workshop, we review many of the ways AI/ML can be applied throughout the entire media production and distribution process. We build an end-to-end metadata enrichment workflow that extracts meaningful metadata from content (audio, video, and images). We then build a solution that uses Amazon Rekognition, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Transcribe, Amazon Comprehend, and Amazon Mechanical Turk to analyze content, and we use it to enrich a viewing experience and assist with compliance. We also build and train a custom object detection model, which is used to augment the data that Amazon Rekognition provides. We cover all aspects of AI/ML-based metadata generation, from labeling a dataset, to training and hosting a model, all the way to validating the metadata prior to playout.
12 – 2 p.m.: Build an AWS Analytics Solution to Monitor Video Streaming
In this workshop, we build and deploy an end-to-end analytics solution for monitoring the video streaming experience. We integrate an open source video player with Amazon Kinesis Data Streams to capture events in real time. We explore the data available for capture and a variety of use cases: from generating alerts on poor experience to content recommendations based on user behavior. We also show you how this real-time data can be archived in a data lake and further used to generate reports of aggregate performance and experience across a number of dimensions.
2:30 – 5 p.m.: UnicornTrivia - Building a Live Trivia Mobile App Using AWS AppSync, AWS Amplify, and AWS Media Services
Do you want to author the next wildly successful gaming app? Come to this workshop session and learn how to build a real-time trivia application where everyone is a participant! Using AWS AppSync and AWS Amplify, participants will implement a trivia system. Additionally, by using a webcam with AWS Elemental MediaLive and AWS Elemental MediaStore, everyone will be able to host their own show. Don't miss your chance to learn how to use these services while building something fun. The goal of the workshop is to build out a question and answer trivia pub/sub model and convert your laptop into a live stream platform to push your video into the app.
