description

Hybrid radio, the combination of over-the-air and internet connectivity in radio receivers, is enhancing the radio experience for consumers and offering new and exciting opportunities for broadcasters and automakers. NAB, through its ongoing auto initiative, is working with automakers and others to explore the variety of ways that current and next-generation radio solutions will fully take advantage of the opportunities afforded by this technology.

In this presentation, Mr. Layer will discuss in detail some of the recent NAB and PILOT projects that explore the potential of hybrid radio, including "Team PILOT" auto hackathon activities and collaboration with Xperi and NAB members around the Connected Radio Evaluation Unit (CREU). He will also offer some insights into the NAB auto initiative's progress and where next-gen implementations are heading.
