Robert E. Arnold

Cinematographer Grown-ish, La La Land, Furious 7

Native Chicagoan Robert Arnold has been a professional filmmaker for over 10 years. His passion for shooting independent short form cinema started during his senior year of high school and continued throughout his time at Columbia College Chicago where he received his Bachelors of Arts in Cinematography in 2008. Two years later, Robert was honored to be invited to join Chicago's I.A.T.S.E. Motion Picture Studio Mechanic film union. While navigating as a new union member, the young cinephile would further his occupation becoming a grip/electrician on features/TV series and commercials between Chicago and New Mexico. Robert graduated in 2011 from the prestigious American Film Institute with a Masters of Fine Arts in Cinematography. During his tenure in grad school, he worked with AFI Alumni Cinematographer Rohn Schmidt (The Shield, The Mist, The Walking Dead, Chicago PD) on The Chicago Code and was hired to operate on The Walking Dead post graduation. Specializing in operating Steadicam, handheld, remote heads and the geared head, Robert Arnold is a professional member of the International Cinematographers Guild I.A.S.T.E. Local 600. A versatile technician, Robert's goal is to continue operating on various professional projects that will reinforce his multi-comprehensive education in the craft of cinematography.
